Rainbow Room Affiliations

Would you like to become a Rainbow Room affiliate? While we would love to affiliate with EVERYBODY the reality is that in so doing we only diminish the value of affiliation with each group or organization added. We want our affiliates to feel that partnering with the Rainbow Room is worthwhile experience. And we want to feel the same way in return. With that in mind, we have come up with some criteria for a successful affiliation.

Mission

The first thing we have considered in all of the criteria listed from here on out is something we strive to maintain: our mission. Everything we do is with our mission in mind. The Mission of the Rainbow Room is to create a relaxed environment for roleplay that encourages the growth and support of a positive roleplay community.

Qualities

In order to meet our mission goals the Rainbow Room has chosen to break our rules of conduct into six unique section based around the qualities we wish to foster in a roleplay environment. While we would never ask any of our affiliates to adapt our rules, we do consider these basic qualities to be exemplary in developing a positive roleplay environment.Acceptance - The Rainbow Room is a Hate Free zone that happens to be run by a coalition of LGBTQ+ players. It's doors are open to all, and we wouldn't partner with anyone who doesn't espouse this value.Respect - We espouse the idea that everyone has the right to a basic level of respect. Everything must be consensual and everyone should be polite to one another.Peace - We strive to maintain a non-hostile environment and expect the same from our partners. Toxicity has no place in RP.Harmony - We strive to create a relaxed and drama free environment where everyone feels accepted. At the end of the day, everyone should feel welcome and comfortable.Restraint - The Rainbow Room strives to maintain a PG-13 environment. While we realize that many venues offer additional services that go beyond this level, what we would ask of our affiliates is that ERP should always be consensual. In other words, if you're going to allow ERP in public locations it should be clearly noted for potential patrons before they enter the door. If you have to see it without your consent its non-consensual.Charity - The Rainbow Room does no charge for services, nor will we ever do so. We understand that for many establishments this is how they pay their staff. That said, we would be unlikely to partner with a group that offers services that create economic boundaries to RP. If you offer additional services in a private location for a fee, or a little something extra for your VIPS, that's okay. We're not big on charging for drinks or food at the bar. We realize that this usually comes with a food item, but for many RPers they are there for the RP. Charging gil at the bar is a non-inclusive decision that creates barriers.
